BADFEELING – No Sleep. Bad Dreams. Endorphines.

BADFEELING - No Sleep. Bad Dreams. Endorphines.

If I ever wanted to create an album to my taste and invite my favorite singers to each perform a song, it would look exactly like this!

It’s a true monster of different musical styles, built on the foundation of grindcore, with a few rows of hardcore bricks. Badfeeling’s release “No Sleep. Bad Dreams. Endorphines.” feels like a musical Frankenstein, and I mean that in the best possible way – a combination of different parts that breathe together, creating the impression of a band compilation, but with an unmistakably unified vision of its creator.

And when it comes to the creator, Pompeo is behind it all, the guitarist from bands such as PLAGUE BOMB, VERANO’S DOGS, and TASTE THE FLOOR. Pompeo has long since become synonymous with the Italian extreme music scene, with an impressive body of work and experience as the organizer of Go! Fest – a grindcore festival that has hosted over 130 bands across 11 editions. His nickname, “Badfeeling”, as he says, comes from an earlier time when he was influenced by melodic punk rock, and the album he birthed during the COVID lockdown in 2020 carries with it everything that the concept of “unity” can encompass.

On this release, Pompeo gathered 18 vocalists from all over the world, which gives the album incredible breadth and diversity. Every song on this album brings a different approach and energy. Musically, the album doesn’t waste time on complicated structures – it’s a pure, unfiltered attack, with brutal production that will knock you off your feet.

The album is only 25 minutes long, and those minutes fly by like an explosion from which you cannot escape, like a runaway train speeding with no brakes toward a two-meter-thick concrete wall. To top it all off, the final song, and the longest track at the same time, an instrumental with a saxophone, adds another dimension to the whole story.

Here’s the complete lineup:
– Cubed Prison (Vocals: Graham – ENDLESS SWARM)
– Love Essential (Vocals: Kiras – WILL COPE, FARSAS)
– No Sleep, Bad Dreams, Endorphines (Vocals: Totò – ANF, NEGATIVE PATH, CAVERNICULAR)
– Antipolicedrugunit (Vocals: Ondřej – TRIGGER, ONANIZER)
– Show No Mercy (Vocals: Fabio – RAKE OFF)
– I Have to Feel Something (Vocals: Attila – CRIPPLED FOX)
– Campari! Borghetti! (Vocals: Sima – MOOOM)
– Nuclear Shred Sesh (Vocals: Stijn – REPROACH, RAW PEACE)
– Rage Against Me (Vocals: Marcella – MORTAIO, GUFONERO, EGOTISMO)
– Illusions (Vocals: Boco – EXTREME SMOKE 57)
– Edgy (Vocals: Chiara – L.UL.U.)
– Selfslaughtering (Vocals: Daniel – TIBIA, ONRYO)
– Procrastination (Vocals: Pibe – WHORESNATION, CIVILIAN THROWER)
– Black Iceberg (Vocals: Gabri – TERROR FIRMER, CANCER SPREADING, SHRIEKING DEMONS)
– Test Me! (Vocals: Adam – MORTIFY, DISROTTED, SICK/TIRED, DILUTION)
– Modern Life Warfare (Vocals: Mirco – DOUBLE ME, ANTISEXY)
– Contrazione (Vocals: Dadde – CxIxBx, CRUSHED UP, TUTTO ROTTO)
– The Arm’s Dance (Instrumental, Sax: Giorgio – SHRIEKING DEMONS, BOTTOMLESS, HAEMOPHAGUS)

Although it may seem like more of a collection of songs than a cohesive whole, it’s precisely this wild diversity that makes “No Sleep. Bad Dreams. Endorphines.” an outstanding album. Every vocalist leaves their mark and contributes to the unique sound.

It’s hard to single out any one track because that would be disrespectful to the others. Every song is a gem in its own right, and together they form an album that is the very manifestation of the underground scene, connecting different corners of the world through a shared passion for extreme music. This is not just an album – it is a document of time, emotions, and artistic unity.

For true fans of grindcore, “No Sleep. Bad Dreams. Endorphines.” is a release you cannot afford to miss. Diverse, intelligent, and uncompromising, this is an album that will keep you coming back for more, with every listen revealing something new.
