Iron Bonehead Productions has set January 31st, 2025, as the international release date for BALEFIRE’s striking debut mini-album, self-titled “Balefire”, available on 12″ vinyl.
BALEFIRE is the latest project from Chuck Sherwood, longtime bassist of INCANTATION and former member of BLOOD STORM.
With this release, Sherwood and his crew ignite the flames of ancient-style Satanic death metal. Featuring six tracks spanning 15 minutes, BALEFIRE delivers a potent blend of malevolent intent and a dark, old-school sound. The album’s raw aesthetic calls to mind legends such as SADISTIC INTENT, ’90s VADER, Peru’s MORTEM, Finland’s BELIAL, Mexico’s CENOTAPH, and even INCANTATION in their earliest days.
The result is a familiar yet fiercely executed mini-album that balances straightforward songwriting with an understated, atmospheric touch – an authentic triumph rooted in timeless, trend-free death metal values.
