Galician black metal entity BALMOG return with their fifth studio album Laio, set for release on May 23, 2025 via WAR ANTHEM RECORDS, in CD, LP, and digital formats.
Titled after the Galician word for “lament,” Laio is described as the band’s most mature and emotionally charged work to date—a visceral cry from the soul that channels both the raw intensity of their early albums and the eclectic depth found on EVE.
Conceptually, Laio confronts the human struggle between submission and transcendence—between being molded by divine hands or exploding like dying stars. It is a declaration of independence, a rejection of spiritual manipulation.
Musically, BALMOG continue to expand beyond black metal’s boundaries, drawing from the broader legacy of rock and metal while wielding the unrelenting blade of their blackened roots.
