BIND TORTURE KILL – Sauvagerie

bind torture kill, sauvagerie

“Sauvagerie,” the latest album from French band BIND TORTURE KILL, marks only their third release since the band’s inception in 2013.

In just nine tracks, they deliver an explosion of brutality that rolls down like an unstoppable bulldozer. From the first second, this album hits like a fallen concrete wall. Tempo and energy are crafted for those who crave music akin to a drill pounding in their heads.

The opening track, “Déchiquete,” tears through the soundscape like a buzzsaw, setting the tone for the blistering half-hour to follow. “Bandaison” and “Cadavres” continue with a speed that feels like ground meat hitting you straight in the face. Each track carries its own rhythm. Yet, together they create a wall of noise that grinds away relentlessly, like a meat grinder with no off switch.

The title track, “Sauvagerie,” takes things deeper, evoking the feeling of being trapped in a damp underground bunker with no escape. In “Brûle Vif” and “Cul De Jatte,” the album’s two longest tracks, the band slows the tempo but only to amplify the claustrophobic sense of confinement as the space closes in, with every riff and drum hit hammering down like a relentless sledgehammer.

This album is a violent ritual, a place where BIND TORTURE KILL throws listeners into a vortex of rage and darkness. “Sauvagerie” feels like the soundtrack to a brutal basement brawl, delivering a rawness and authenticity that make the French scene so distinctive.

And, as the band’s name suggests, BIND TORTURE KILL leaves nothing less than a traumatic mark on its listeners. Just as their notorious namesake, the “BTK Killer,” meticulously planned every detail, this band weaves a web of terror that offers no exit and no mercy.

With this third album, and Dahlia Noir Records’ first release, they’ve proven themselves masters of binding, torturing, and – well, musically killing it!
