Ex-WORMROT Drummer Vijesh Revives Grindcore Band CODE ERROR

Big news for grindcore fans: Vijesh, the former drummer of grindcore legends WORMROT, has officially revived his intense grindcore project, CODE ERROR, alongside guitarist Tiong from Malaysian grindcore act TOOLS OF THE TRADE.

After shocking fans in mid-2024 with his departure from WORMROT – just days after the band performed in London – Vijesh is back with a vengeance. Not only has CODE ERROR returned from hiatus, but the duo has already prepared enough material for a new full-length album. Their 2017 debut EP, recorded in just one day, remains a testament to their natural chemistry, and now, they’re ready to unleash even more chaos.

Reflecting on this major comeback, Vijesh shared: “The EP we did in 2017 was a huge release for us. Recording it all in one day felt natural with this lineup. After leaving WORMROT in July last year, and taking some time off, it felt like the perfect moment to revive this band. We wanted to end the hiatus and give our supporters something new. We’re excited for the next release, as well as future shows and tours.”

Tiong echoed the enthusiasm: “We’ve always had a natural chemistry and the same mindset for composing. Picking up where we left off eight years ago just felt right. Working on this new album is also a chance for me to push beyond my comfort zone.”

The 2017 EP and a new live track are streaming now, giving fans a taste of what’s to come. While CODE ERROR currently operates as a duo, Vijesh hinted that a vocalist might join later, potentially as a touring member.

Welcome back, CODE ERROR – grindcore just got a whole lot more intense! Stay tuned for more updates on their upcoming album and live performances.
