Swedish goregrind legends GENERAL SURGERY are set to have their early demos reissued on vinyl this March, bringing back some of the most gruesome and raw recordings from the golden era of pathological grind.
“Demos 1990”, a co-release between FOAD Records and Nuclear Abominations Records, revisits the band’s formative years, packed with grinding sickness and a heavy dose of Swedish death metal filth.
Originally released 21 years ago as a double 7″ edition via Nuclear Abominations, this long-out-of-print collection now gets a fresh vinyl treatment. Featuring former members of DISMEMBER, CARNAGE, CARBONIZED, CREMATORY, and REGURGITATE, GENERAL SURGERY quickly established themselves as one of the most notorious acts in the pathological goregrind scene, taking heavy inspiration from early CARCASS and merging it with the unmistakable sound of Swedish death metal.
“Demos 1990” compiles three legendary recordings from the band’s early days:
“Erosive Offals (Malignant Necrotomy)”
“Pestipherous Anthropophagia”
“Internecine Prurience”
Twelve tracks of grinding, decomposing bloody carnage, this release is an essential piece of goregrind history. More details on the vinyl edition coming soon!
