A real grindcore refreshment comes to us from Providence in the form of a six-minute demo album by the band HUMAN HUNTING TACTICS.
This quintet clearly doesn’t want to leave anything to chance, so they’ve packed five songs in a way that each hits directly to the skull, from start to finish.
Although short, the album manages to convey an enormous amount of energy, anger, and creativity, making it a must-listen as we await the new album, which should be released by the end of the year on Riotous Outburst Records.
Each of these five songs is like a lightning-fast assault on the senses, with energetic and fast drums, frenetic guitars, and vocals that scream through the chaos as if breaking through the walls of reality. The production is raw and unrestrained, giving the songs an authentic, almost visceral power that is rarely found in today’s music.
The demo opens with “I’ll Show You Hell in a Self Painted Landscape,” which begins with a brief death metal intro that transitions into grindcore and sets the tone for the rest of the demo album with its turbo-fast tempo and crushing riffs. It’s followed by “Tour of Providence,” a true whirlwind of aggression, but with enough slowness in the second half to hold the listener’s attention. The third track, “Fake Fuck,” is just over a minute of d-beat that brings unexpected rhythmic changes that will make you want to dance.
The songs “Pain Follows” and “Human Speed Bump” close the album with a true explosion of sound, taking the chaos to a whole new level. Despite its brevity, this demo manages to create a sense of wild ride you loved when you were young. 🙂
Overall, this album is a brilliant example of how grindcore can be intense, even when we think everything has already been played.
