Yonkers-based brutal technical death metal band MALIGNANCY returns with their highly anticipated fourth album “…Discontinued”, promising a grinding, technical assault.
Formed in 1992, MALIGNANCY quickly became a notable name in the scene with early demos “Eaten Out From Within” (1993) and “Ignorance is Bliss” (1997), and set a high standard with their debut album “Intrauterine Cannibalism” (1999).
Despite lineup changes, they maintained their intensity with second album “Inhuman Grotesqueries” (2007) and third “Eugenics” (2012). Now, twelve years later, their fourth full-length album “…Discontinued’ continues their legacy, blending caustic aggression with technical finesse. In the opening track “Existential Dread” you can already hear their signature groove and technicality, while the album’s dynamic production enhances each element.
Tracks like “Binary Paradigm” and “Purity of Purpose” highlight their intense, groove-driven sound, while “Haunted Symmetry” and “Decomposing Divinity” push their chaotic, technical limits. “…Discontinued” is a relentless, detailed, and finely crafted album, reaffirming MALIGNANCY’s place in the brutal death metal genre.
