NAILS – Every Bridge Burning

Nails, Every Bridge Burning

After years of silence, NAILS is finally back with a new lineup and a hard-hitting album. The release is short, just 18 minutes, but it’s packed with grindcore and metal madness.

From the first track “Imposing Will”, it’s clear NAILS haven’t lost their edge. Fast riffs, blast beats, and brutal breakdowns are all there, delivering exactly what fans expect.

The opening songs hit hard, but they do feel a bit repetitive. There’s a clear structure: fast at the start, groovy by the end. Still, the aggression is undeniable, and the energy never dips. Around the fourth track “Give Me The Painkiller”, shit really hits the fan. Thrash influence really speeds things up, and even a guitar solo that took me by surprise. The riffs in this section stand out and give “Every Bridge Burning” a fresh feel.

As the album progresses, the intensity stays on the high level. The final track “No More Rivers To Cross” is the longest and most dynamic. It mixes sludgy grooves with heavy breakdowns, offering some of the variation that was missing in the earlier tracks. The drumming really shines here, adding depth to the sound.

Production-wise, the album is sharp. The guitars are clear, and the vocals feel more powerful than ever. You can tell Todd Jones put serious effort into his performance. The screams are raw, aggressive, and intense. Longtime fans will enjoy the return to form, even if the album doesn’t take many risks. It’s familiar, but still satisfying.

While it may not break new ground, “Every Bridge Burning” is a solid addition to their discography. It’s loud, fast, and hits hard from start to finish.
