“Absolute Destruction” marks the fourth release from OPEN SURGERY which will be released in July 2024.

This EP elevates the band’s writing, production, and performance to new heights. True to their signature style, the lyrics delve into the abnormalities of human nature. The blend of Florida and Stockholm death metal influences remains a cornerstone of their sound, which fans of both the band and classic death metal genre will instantly recognize and appreciate their distinctive songwriting.

OPEN SURGERY, formed in Finspång, Sweden in 2012, consists of members who have played together in various bands before coming together. From the start, the band has embraced death metal with a strong influence from the classic Florida sound, inspired by bands like MORBID ANGEL, CANNIBAL CORPSE, DEICIDE, DEATH, and OBITUARY.

Their music also shows clear influences from renowned Swedish death metal acts such as GRAVE, ENTOMBED, EDGE OF SANITY, and VOMITORY.

In 2013, Open Surgery released their debut full-length album, “Experiments of Excessive Torture,” which was well-received in the metal community.

The band played several small gigs around Finspång and Stockholm, boosting their popularity. Proud of their death metal heritage, OPEN SURGERY strives to uphold and celebrate this tradition.

Their second full-length album, “Post Mortem Mutilation,” came out in 2016, followed by an EP/cassette titled “After Birth Abortion” in 2018.
