Formed in 2008 in Fürstenfeldbruck, a town near Munich, PUBLIC GRAVE started as a group of friends with a shared love for death metal.
Over time, they carved out their own niche as the region’s only slam/groove death metal band, refining their sound into a relentless force. The lineup is as tight as their music – Korny lays down bone-rattling basslines, Chris delivers crushing guitar riffs, Beni drives everything forward with punishing rhythms, and Hamby ties it all together with his guttural, monstrous vocals. Together, they generate a sonic landslide that spares no one.
After 16 years of grinding through the underground, PUBLIC GRAVE have shared the stage with bands like DISBELIEF, MASTER, ANALEPSY, HUMAN VIVISECTION, and many more. Their biggest milestone yet came with their international debut at Tolminator Festival 2024, where they stood alongside heavyweights like BEHEMOTH, TESTAMENT, and EXODUS.
Musically, PUBLIC GRAVE thrives on a lethal mix of KATAKLYSM’s intensity and SIX FEET UNDER’s groove, blending brutal slams with raw, unfiltered aggression. Their fascination with all things undead, grotesque, and apocalyptic runs deep, and it’s never been more evident than on their latest album, “Grotesque Mutations”.
A follow-up to “Cadaverous Resurrection”, this album is an all-out assault, thematically and musically diving into a post-apocalyptic world consumed by grotesque mutations and ravenous zombies. From the first note, the album hits like a sledgehammer, balancing neck-breaking grooves with an oppressive, monstrous atmosphere.
Tracks like “Human Organ Harvesting” delve into the depravity of a crumbling world, depicting the extremes survivors go to in order to stay alive—hunting, capturing, and harvesting organs from other humans in a desperate fight for survival. The album doesn’t just tell a story; it drags you into its bleak, merciless vision with grotesque imagery and relentless sonic punishment.
With seven tracks plus an intro, “Grotesque Mutations” adds another slab of brutality to PUBLIC GRAVE’s ever-growing arsenal. Whether live or on record, these tracks are engineered to cave in skulls and obliterate necks – slam-infused death metal, delivered at full force.
