Based in Auckland, New Zealand, longtime friends and occasional musical collaborators formed RVKKVS in 2020. With a collaborative approach to songwriting that starts from various instrumental bases, their music is diverse and intricate, drawing from each member’s unique influences, all filtered through the lens of extreme metal.
Thematically, the band explores the complexities of human behavior, tackling issues like pathology, addiction, malice, and the pervasive hubris that surrounds us. At the same time, the band members view music and the extremity of their style as a cathartic escape from the daily grind. They perform their songs with a sense of humor and steadfast self-esteem, believing that even in the face of humanity’s darker aspects, we can rise above and find solace in music and the connections it fosters.

Following a two-song demo recorded in 2022, RVKKVS will unveil their album Antithesis of Prosperity, bringing their distinctive sound and approach to a brutal realization in 2024.
